HEART Review Meeting on September 2016

Oct 17, 2016

The Highly Efficient and Reliable smart Transformer project funded by ERC Consolidator Grant (2 Mio € ) is one of the most prestigious project of the Chair of Power Electronics. The number of Journals and conferance articles published under the HEART project has increased tremendously since the project starting in May 2014. The publication list is available  here.

The review meeting to evaluate the project progress was carried out on 9 September 2016. The review panel consisted of Prof. Fred Blaabjerg (Aalborg University), Dr. Tamas Kerekas (Aalborg University), Dr. Huai Wang (Aalborg University), Dr. Ke Ma (Aalborg University), Prof. Alex Q. Huang (NCSU, USA), Biskoping Matthias (ABB), Joachim Bergmann (WTSH) and January Cornils (WTSH). The panel was impressed about the current status of the HEART project and gave technical suggestions for further reserach.

Research

  • Our research is focused on the design of high efficient and reliable PWM-based power converter architectures (single-cell, multi-cell, multilevel), their modelling and control to exploit commercial as well as new power semiconductor devices with minimum over design.
We develop controllers for electric drives and we are particularly skilled in the integration of renewable energy systems into the electric grid.
Please discover our expertise looking to our recent projects.
