Wind turbines: operational behaviour and grid connection

Wind farms are still today high complex systems. The characteristic of the wind turbines and the interactions among each other over the wind farm intern sub-grid and between wind farm and the high-voltage grid are analyzed. read more The characteristic of the wind turbines and as well the wind field related to the power dissipation, the type of control of the dissipated power, the circuit feedback, the opposite influence and the grid faults are simulated, analyzed and if necessary optimized. We own extensive simulation models. Their results could be validated on four 22kW drive systems.



  • Our research is focused on the design of high efficient and reliable PWM-based power converter architectures (single-cell, multi-cell, multilevel), their modelling and control to exploit commercial as well as new power semiconductor devices with minimum over design.
    We develop controllers for electric drives and we are particularly skilled in the integration of renewable energy systems into the electric grid.
