The Highly Efficient And Reliable smart Transformer (HEART), a new Heart for the Electric Distribution System
The project will run at Kiel Universityfor 5 years involving 5 PhDs and Post-Docs as well as many guest researchers and professors. It will be a flagship research for the Chair of Power Electronics. The project will be developed in a newly established high-voltage and high-power laboratory with facilities for reliability testing, efficiency and thermal verification of power converters. [read more]Furthermore a RTDS system will enable grid integration testing. The project will benefit of the cooperation with Aalborg University and especially with the CORPE (Center Of Reliable Power Electronics). The main findings of the project will be useful also for industries interested in high-power and high-voltage power electronics and in general for the industries of Schleswig-Holstein involved in power electronics, electric drives and smart grid technologies.
