Chair of Power Electronics

Academic CV

Victor Ferreira received the electronic engineer degree from Ponticia Universidade de Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte, Brazil, in 2013, and the master of electrical engineering degree from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, BeloHorizonte, Brazil, in 2016. He is currently workingtoward the Doctor’s degree in electrical engineering, in a cotutelle program between the Chair of Power Electronics, Christian Albrechts-Universitat zu Kiel, Kiel, Germany, and the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. He has experience in power electronics working as a Research and Development Engineer with medium-voltage converters. His current research and technical interests include reliability, power semiconductor devices, multi-level and multimodular converters

  • Our research is focused on the design of high efficient and reliable PWM-based power converter architectures (single-cell, multi-cell, multilevel), their modelling and control to exploit commercial as well as new power semiconductor devices with minimum over design.
We develop controllers for electric drives and we are particularly skilled in the integration of renewable energy systems into the electric grid.
