Johannes Kuprat receives the Prof. Dr. Werner Petersen-Award

On 18 January Johannes Kuprat received the Prof. Dr. Werner Petersen-Award 2018 for the best Bachelor thesis. His bachelor thesis entitled "Active junction temperature control for power semiconductors" and was supervised by Dr.-Ing. Markus Andresen and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Marco Liserre. Currently he is working on his master thesis at the chair of power electronics.

Research

  • Our research is focused on the design of high efficient and reliable PWM-based power converter architectures (single-cell, multi-cell, multilevel), their modelling and control to exploit commercial as well as new power semiconductor devices with minimum over design.
    We develop controllers for electric drives and we are particularly skilled in the integration of renewable energy systems into the electric grid.
